Today’s Tip – Power vs Grip

They overall process of driving fast is the same whatever you are in but there will be slight variations based on setup, engine position, number and position of driven wheels and the relationship between power and grip.

Looking at the last factor, in very simply terms: the more grip you have relative to power the more you want to aim to conserve speed and momentum mid corner (turn in earlier and faster and carry speed through the corner on the curve); whereas the more power you have relative to grip the later and slower you need to turn in to straighten the exit trajectory to allow you to cleanly apply the power.

Work out where your car fits on this ratio and drive the corners accordingly.
