Damien Faulkner had a much better weekend in the Tudor United Sportscar Championship finishing 4th in GTD in his Porsche 991 GTA in the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen whilst over in Europe the British GT field headed to Spa in Belgium for a couple of races around the famous circuit. Joe Osborne, pro driver and coach in the 88 Triple 8 Optimum BMW Z4 GT3 didn’t have a very good first race with the changing conditions giving co driver Lee Mowle a tough time on the wrong choice of tyre at the start of the race and they only managed 18th place. Race 2 however proved much better with 5th place, just 7 seconds off the win and less than a tenth off 4th.
LearnToRace founder David Hornsey was also in action in round 5 of the CSCC Modern Classics at Castle Combe. After qualifying 2nd on the grid after a traffic filled but great battle for pole with the BMW M3 of David Marcussen David took the first stint, involved in a nose to tail and side by side battle with Marcussen all the way to the pitstops where the LodgeSports Racing team did a fantastic job to get co-driver Steve Miller out with a 12 second advantage. The race was red flagged with one lap to run but Steve still had nearly 7 seconds in hand to claim another overall victory for the team.
